Adults Have Many Options Today to Get Straighter Teeth

My crooked teeth always bothered me, but I didn't want to wear typical metal braces for years as an adult. I thought that was my only option until I brought up the subject one day to my dentist. He told me that there were so many more options today that I should consider. I made an appointment with an orthodontist to discuss my options, and he said that I was a great candidate for invisible teeth aligners. He said that other people would not even notice them in my mouth, and that I likely only needed to wear them for a year. I was so happy I made that first appointment, because I now have straight teeth and am so happy with my smile. I created this blog to help other adults realize they have many discreet teeth-straightening options today. No should live with a smile they don't love!

How To Keep Your Teeth Looking White Longer

You should do everything in your capabilities to keep your teeth as white as possible. This way, you can maintain your great looking smile without worrying about how to get your teeth back to the way they once looked. The information in this article will serve as a helpful guide when it comes to assisting you with keeping your teeth looking white for as long as possible.

Don't get lazy with your oral hygiene

Most people know they should brush their teeth when they wake up, after eating foods high in sugar and before they go to bed. They also know about flossing and using mouthwash. However, it can be easy to get lazy about caring for your teeth and start neglecting them. This will lead to discolored teeth quickly. Stay disciplined in your oral care and don't take your teeth for granted.

Don't eat foods known to stain teeth

Certain foods can stain your teeth fairly quickly. Staying away from these foods will make it much easier for you to keep your teeth looking good. A few examples of foods that can stain your teeth include red wine, black tea, coffee, pasta sauce, colored candies, popsicles, beets, soy sauce and any food colored with the use of food coloring.

Carry dental supplies with you

If you live a busy lifestyle, it can be easy to get caught somewhere unable to take proper care of your teeth. An example would be going to a birthday party where you eat a lot of sugary foods and won't be home to care for your teeth for a few hours. This leaves that sugar on your teeth for a prolonged length of time. Carrying a travel toothbrush, travel toothpaste and travel sized floss in your car allows you to sneak away to care for your teeth.

Go in for teeth cleanings

No matter how diligent you are about taking care of your teeth at home, you won't be able to get your teeth as clean as the dentist's office can. They have special equipment designed to clean teeth and the necessary experience to clean them completely. Getting your routine, professional teeth cleanings will help to keep your teeth looking white longer.

By following the tips detailed above, you will find it easier to keep your teeth looking nice and white for longer. If you do experience staining, a dentist, such as Dentistry For the Entire Family, will be able to give you a teeth whitening treatment to remove the stains.
