Adults Have Many Options Today to Get Straighter Teeth

My crooked teeth always bothered me, but I didn't want to wear typical metal braces for years as an adult. I thought that was my only option until I brought up the subject one day to my dentist. He told me that there were so many more options today that I should consider. I made an appointment with an orthodontist to discuss my options, and he said that I was a great candidate for invisible teeth aligners. He said that other people would not even notice them in my mouth, and that I likely only needed to wear them for a year. I was so happy I made that first appointment, because I now have straight teeth and am so happy with my smile. I created this blog to help other adults realize they have many discreet teeth-straightening options today. No should live with a smile they don't love!

Toddlers And Their Teeth

Toddlers can be challenging, and it's often hard to get them to do what you want. You can't always reason with them in order to get the necessary results. This can even be true when it comes to making sure they are doing what needs to be done for their teeth.  This article is full of some great ways you can prepare your toddler for healthy and great looking teeth without a lot of fighting.

Get the tooth fairy involved

The tooth fairy can be a great help to you when it comes to convincing your toddler to take good care of their teeth. You can even leave little notes under their pillow reminding them to eat right and brush their teeth. Sprinkle some glitter on the window sill too, so you can show your child where the tooth fairy came in at!

Make a contest out of dental care

You can make oral hygiene a competition in your household. You can hold contests to see who can get their teeth whiter each time the family brushes; of course you will be the judge, so you can always praise your child for a job well done, or deem someone else the winner when they aren't taking their tooth brushing serious enough.

Make teeth friendly and fun snacks with your toddler

You can have fun with your toddler putting together some snacks that are good for their teeth. Let them help you peel carrots and put them into baggies. They can also help you to putt apple slices and other fruits and veggies into individual sized snack packs they can grab and eat knowing they are teeth friendly.

Get your toddler used to going to the dentist

The more you get your toddler used to going in to see the dentist, the easier future visits will be. Start having them go in early for routine check-ups, cleanings, and even just to stop by once in a while and say a quick hello to the office staff during slow hours.

Read dental care books to your child

Incorporate books into your child's bedtime that have to do with good dental care. Not only will this give your little one the benefit of having stories read to them each night, but they will also be given the benefits of continuing to learn about taking care of their teeth in a way that will stick with them.

Who knows? This might even inspire you to brighten your smile by getting in touch with a professional like Frederic J Mrugala DDS.
