Adults Have Many Options Today to Get Straighter Teeth

My crooked teeth always bothered me, but I didn't want to wear typical metal braces for years as an adult. I thought that was my only option until I brought up the subject one day to my dentist. He told me that there were so many more options today that I should consider. I made an appointment with an orthodontist to discuss my options, and he said that I was a great candidate for invisible teeth aligners. He said that other people would not even notice them in my mouth, and that I likely only needed to wear them for a year. I was so happy I made that first appointment, because I now have straight teeth and am so happy with my smile. I created this blog to help other adults realize they have many discreet teeth-straightening options today. No should live with a smile they don't love!

Top Reasons To Visit An Emergency Dental Clinic

Most people have a family dentist who they see for routine exams, cleanings, x-rays, and procedures like fillings. But, since most dental offices are only open during normal business hours, there are many times when people need to seek emergency dental care in the evenings or on the weekends. In these types of situations, the best option is to visit an emergency dental clinic. Some of the top reasons to go to an emergency dental clinic include:

Tooth is Knocked Out

Whether you're in an accident or experience some other type of trauma to your mouth, having a tooth knocked out is a major medical emergency. Any time you have a tooth knocked out, it is extremely important to seek emergency dental care not only to increase the likelihood that your tooth can be restored but also to prevent infections and other problems in the area of the gums where the tooth was knocked out. If you lose a tooth due to an accident or trauma, always try to recover the tooth and head straight to an emergency dental clinic.

Complications After Wisdom Teeth Removal

Having your wisdom teeth removed is not a fun process, but most people recover within a few days. A lot of people schedule wisdom teeth removal on a Friday so they can recover at home before returning to work, but if you experience complications, it can be difficult to see a dental professional. If you develop dry sockets, a high fever, or show other signs of complications from your wisdom teeth removal you need to see a dentist immediately. If your complications occur after hours or over the weekend, head to an emergency dental clinic for treatment.

Filling Falls Out

Fillings are often used to help restore teeth with cavities or decay. While fillings are very durable and long-lasting, it is possible for them to fall out. When this happens, a person can experience a lot of pain, especially if it was a deep filling that was covering the nerve of a tooth. If you have a filling fall out, you don't need to suffer in pain until your dentist's office opens-- a dentist at an emergency dental clinic can assist you and relieve your pain.

Broken Tooth

In order for teeth to remain healthy, they need to stay in one piece. Unfortunately, teeth can break due to decay or biting down on something hard. A broken tooth should never be ignored. Seeking emergency care at a dental clinic increases you chance of the tooth being restored without having to undergo invasive dental treatments.
