Adults Have Many Options Today to Get Straighter Teeth

My crooked teeth always bothered me, but I didn't want to wear typical metal braces for years as an adult. I thought that was my only option until I brought up the subject one day to my dentist. He told me that there were so many more options today that I should consider. I made an appointment with an orthodontist to discuss my options, and he said that I was a great candidate for invisible teeth aligners. He said that other people would not even notice them in my mouth, and that I likely only needed to wear them for a year. I was so happy I made that first appointment, because I now have straight teeth and am so happy with my smile. I created this blog to help other adults realize they have many discreet teeth-straightening options today. No should live with a smile they don't love!

Why A Dental Crown Could Be The Ideal Option For You

If you are in need of some major dental work and your dentist has suggested that you opt for some crowns, you will want to give it some consideration. After all, there are many benefits that come from having the dental crowns, as explained here. Check out some of the benefits of crowns for your teeth so you can see why you will want to get them for yourself.

The Appearance Of The Tooth Is Improved

Some people have a single tooth, or maybe a couple, that is not shaped like the others. You might have a tooth that could use some cosmetic help because of its shape, or even because it is not as white as the rest of the teeth in your mouth. If that is the case, then you can use the crowns the cover the tooth. The crown will give the tooth a shape and color that will blend in nicely with the rest of your natural teeth.

The Tooth Is Protected From Major Work That Was Done

If you are going to go for a root canal or you have a severely cracked tooth that needs attention, you might want to have a crown put in place. The crown can act as a bandage of sorts, holding the cracked tooth together so it does not completely fall apart. It can also protect the tooth that wet through some trauma during the root canal process.

The Crown Lasts A Long Time

The crown is a great option because it can last for many years. The more careful you are with it, the longer it will last. Therefore, once you have the crown in place, you may want to avoid eating hard nuts and things like that in the area where the crown is. You would not want to risk breaking it and then have to pay for a new one sooner than expected.

Once you have settled on the idea that crowns are the way to go for your particular dental needs, you will want to let your dentist know. This way, they can begin the process of getting it covered by your dental insurance plan. If your dental insurance does not cover crowns or you are without that type of coverage, you can opt to pay for the crowns in cash. Talk with your dentist about the total cost and whether there is a payment plan that you can set up.
