Adults Have Many Options Today to Get Straighter Teeth

My crooked teeth always bothered me, but I didn't want to wear typical metal braces for years as an adult. I thought that was my only option until I brought up the subject one day to my dentist. He told me that there were so many more options today that I should consider. I made an appointment with an orthodontist to discuss my options, and he said that I was a great candidate for invisible teeth aligners. He said that other people would not even notice them in my mouth, and that I likely only needed to wear them for a year. I was so happy I made that first appointment, because I now have straight teeth and am so happy with my smile. I created this blog to help other adults realize they have many discreet teeth-straightening options today. No should live with a smile they don't love!

2 Reasons To Consider Dental Implants

Missing teeth, loose dentures, and a sunken facial appearance are reasons to consider dental implants. However, getting implants may be scary at first, and you'll probably wonder if the investment is worth it.

Discover some benefits that make dental implants the best solution to help you achieve your dental goals.

Dental Implants Prevent Bone Loss

Missing teeth not only make you feel conscious about your smile and chewing habits but also negatively affect your jawbone's appearance. This problem can make the rest of your teeth shift out of place.

Your jawbone requires stimulation to remain healthy and strong like any other bone or tissue. With missing teeth, the bone will most likely deteriorate. Unfortunately, when you lose your teeth, you'll not be applying any force or pressure to bite or chew. Failure to exercise the jaw bone makes it weaker, and the longer you wait to get implants, the more your jaw bone mass reduces.

Dental implants work as artificial teeth roots. The implants are placed into your gum and jaw bone tissue, allowing you to put some pressure on the bones as you bite and chew. This way, your jaw bone will remain strong for years to come.

Restore the Shape of Your Face

Most people dream of having the perfect face or smile. In fact, some people believe that their smile plays a critical role in how attractive they are.

However, as you age, you may lose some teeth, or your dental bone mass may deteriorate.  This deterioration makes the lower part of your face appear hollow which affects how your face looks. Luckily, dental implants can restore the lost jaw bone mass to make the skin firmer and restore the shape of your face.

Even young people may experience tooth loss. The issue can affect the fullness of their lips and the firmness of their facial skin. Dental implants replace the lost teeth roots to facilitate jaw bone stimulation. This helps you maintain the bone size and mass to keep your facial features intact.

You may never realize how crucial your teeth are in enhancing your facial features until you lose one or more of your teeth. The missing teeth also make it hard for you to perform activities like biting and chewing.

Things get better with dental implants. These devices are designed to replace missing teeth, protect your gums and help you maintain your appearance. Schedule an appointment with your dentist to determine if you are a suitable candidate for dental implants
